Applicants need only apply for either Counselor or Returning Counselor position, not both. You may apply separately for Coordinator or Building Counselor positions if you would like to be considered for those positions.
EFY does not consider preferences or requests when assigning contract to work. EFY assigns staff in the locations where they are most needed. EFY will not assign a contract if you have indicated that you are not available during a specified week. Please make sure that you consistently update your availability on your application.
We frequently add more interviews online. Check back on the website periodically to see if interview times have been added that will work with your schedule.
Bring your scriptures (either physical or on a mobile device,) and dress appropriately for a job interview.
Because of the high volume of applicants EFY receives each year, you should expect to hear back within 3–4 weeks of your interview. Please check your email often (as this is our main form of communication with applicants,) and be patient! You will receive an email as soon as a decision is made. We suggest that you add email@example.com to your list of preferred email contacts. You will receive email notification, whether you are hired or not.
If you are offered an on-call contract for a session, please recognize that we would like to hire you, but the counselor quota for that session is currently full. If a counselor position opens up in that session, a contract may be offered to you. Upon your agreement to work, your status for that session will change from conditional or on–call to "Authorized to Work" without further action on your part. We anticipate that many applicants who accept on-call contracts will have an opportunity to work.
Please make sure you have updated your "Availability" on the employment page. All assignments are made based on the weeks in which you have indicated that you are available to work.
No, EFY will not provide travel to/from training sessions for Counselors and Returning Counselors. All Counselors will be responsible for providing their own travel for training sessions. EFY will provide travel for Coordinator, Building Counselor and Health Counselor positions.
Please see the travel policy for more information.
A mandatory training for all new and Returning Counselors will be held on Wednesday, May 23-Saturday, May 26, 2018 at BYU. Food and housing will be provided. If you are hired, please make arrangements to attend the training in its entirety.
All answers to these questions and more are found in the travel policy. Be sure to reference that section in your EFY Staff Handbook before contacting the EFY office with questions.
Transportation is provided for all sessions from BYU campus on the Saturday before and after a session(s).
Round trip air travel from Salt Lake City Airport is provided for locations greater than 400 miles from BYU.

All travel is arranged to and from BYU campus. Travel will not be provided for staff wishing to travel elsewhere during weeks in which they are not working. If flights have already been booked for those sessions, you will also be responsible for reimbursing EFY for the cost of your ticket.
EFY does not provide reimbursements for gas. If a counselor does not choose to use the travel provided to and from sessions, he or she will be responsible for his or her own travel.
A $25 reimbursement for ONE checked bag will be provided (each way) only when working two or more consecutive weeks at a travel session (unless checked bag is included in airfare).
